We use your email address, verified sign-in identity, vehicle registration, order, payment reference and consent records to provide your account, process your purchase, deliver reports and handle support. Contractual necessity is the basis for providing the service. Security and fraud prevention rely on our legitimate interests; legally required accounting records rely on legal obligations.
Stripe processes card payments; we do not store your card number or security code. Vehicle Data Global receives the registration needed to supply the vehicle data. Our hosting and email providers process information to operate the service. Google processes sign-in information if you choose Google sign-in; email sign-in is also available. Provider privacy information applies to their own services. We do not add you to marketing when you sign in or buy a report.
Essential secure cookies maintain your session and bind email or Google sign-in to your browser. Browser session storage remembers the registration and current order to help prevent duplicate purchases. Blocking these features may prevent sign-in or checkout. We do not use advertising cookies in the Car Check purchase journey.
Full reports can be viewed for 24 hours from lookup. This access period is distinct from retention of order, consent, encrypted report and audit records for support, security, disputes and legal obligations. Restricted backups also contain service records. We keep personal information only for as long as needed for these purposes and review deletion requests against applicable record-keeping requirements.
You may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal information, object to certain processing and receive portable information. Contact support@cersus.co.uk to exercise a right or raise a concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk/.
